COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS

Introduction

By participating in the competition, you are agreeing to these competition terms and conditions. The competition is being run by Minibeast Wildlife, PO Box 506, Kuranda, QLD, 4881 ABN 94 396 062 691

Competition Details:

Start date: Friday 4^th July 2025

End date: Thursday 31^st July 2025

Winner Announced: Tuesday 5^th August 2025

Eligibility to Enter

The competition is open to entrants of all ages.

Entrants must be Australian residents.

Minibeast Wildlife employees are excluded from the draw.

By entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and that you are eligible to receive any prizes that may be awarded to you. 

The competition is completely free to enter.

Entry Details

Bake a cake or other edible creation in the shape or form of an invertebrate of your choice.

A photo/photos of your entry can be shared to Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #BugBakeOff

Tag Minibeast Wildlife in your post #minibeastwildlife

Entries must include your first name and the species of invertebrate that you have created.

Alternatively, your entry can be emailed to bugbakeoff@minibeastwildlife.com.au

The Prizes

The prizes are as follows:

Main prize: $200 voucher to use at Minibeast Wildlife’s Bug Shop

Runner up prizes (2): A signed copy of “Minibeasts – True rulers of our world and the key to our survival” by Alan Henderson

People’s choice award: The entrant with the most likes on Facebook will win a $50 voucher for the Minibeast Wildlife Bugshop

The prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable, and no cash alternatives will be provided.

We reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond our control require doing so.

Minibeast Wildlife’s decision on any aspect of the competition is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

The use of specific brands as prizes by Minibeast Wildlife does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement of such brands.

Winner Announcement

Entries will be judged by Minibeast Wildlife staff based on:

• The likeness to the chosen species
• Creativity of design

The winner will be announced on the Minibeast Wildlife social media pages and/or via the email address provided on Tuesday 5th August 2025.

Minibeast Wildlife will make two attempts to contact the winner.

If the winner does not respond to notifications informing them of their win within 14 days of the second attempt, they forfeit their right to the prize, and Minibeast Wildlife reserves the right to select and notify a new winner.

Delivery of the Prize

The winner will allow 14 days for the prize to be delivered; otherwise, alternative collection or delivery arrangements can be made through mutual agreement.

Data Protection and Publicity

By entering this competition, you are giving permission for your photos and entry to be used by Minibeast Wildlife to promote the competition.

You agree that any personal information that you provide when entering the competition will be used by Minibeast Wildlife for the purposes of administering the competition.

All entrants may request information on the winning participant by emailing bugbakeoff@minibeastwildlife.com.au.

The winner’s first name and entry photo will be announced on Minibeast Wildlife’s website and social media channels.

Limitation of Liability

Minibeast Wildlife accepts no liability for any damage, loss, injury, or disappointment suffered by entrants as a result of participating in the competition or being selected for a prize.

General

Minibeast Wildlife reserves the right, at any time and without prior notice, to cancel the competition or amend these terms and conditions.
